After a five-year hiatus from the UFC in 2016, Miesha Tate returned to fighting in 2021.
Her publicised match against Lauren Murphy on the 16th of July 2022, didn’t go according to plan as Lauren Murphy battered her mercilessly, winning the match unanimously.
Miesha Tate is an American mixed martial artist who currently fights in the UFC. She formerly fought in Strikeforce up until 2012 -where she held the Bantamweight championship. She held the same championship belt a few years after joining the UFC in a fight against Ronda Rousey which she won.
Miesha Tate is considered one of the best female martial artists and has had a number of high-profile fights with phenomenal athletes such as Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunez.
In what she deemed as a come-back statement with her match against Lauren Murphy, she found herself at the mercy of the 38-year-old as Murphy planted hooks and jabs on Tate’s face bruising her and leaving the arena bloody.
Lauren Murphy won the match unanimously.
