Simone Biles is making headlines, and all for the right reasons. The 26-year-old recently landed a Yurchenko double piked (round off–back handspring entry, double piked salto backwards ) in the ongoing world gymnastics championships in Belgium, Antwerp.
Though Biles is not the only gymnast to land the extremely difficult vault, she is the first woman to do so, and much better, at an international competition. The vault skill will be named the “Biles II” in the women’s gymnastics code of points.
This new vault skill is her second eponymous skill on vault and fifth overall. The skill is currently valued at 6.4.
