Chioma Onyekwere, affectionately called CiCi, won her first international competition at the 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham. This feat made her the first Nigerian woman to win an international gold medal in the discus throw.

Chioma Onyekwere is an American-Nigerian athlete specialising in the Discus throw. In addition to being the commonwealth champion, she won the 2016 and 2018 African Championships as well as the 2019 all-African games in Rabat, Morrocco.
